Wadi Rum Nights is a traditional Wadi Rum Bedouin camp, run by our family for many years, descended from generations of local nomadic Bedouins. We are blessed to call this picturesque desert home, and are delighted to welcome tourists to come and enjoy this unforgettable experience with us.
Wadi Rum, also known as ‘Valley of the Moon’, a name coined by tourists for the desert’s mars-like landscape, is a valley cut into sandstone and granite rock with breathtaking shades of red and unusual rock formations, as seen from space. Located in Southern Jordan, between Petra and Aqaba, it is less than 4 hours drive from Amman.
Our camp is located in a secluded valley with spectacular views of the desert surroundings. The location feels isolated, however it is only a short 10km drive off-road from the Rest House in Wadi Rum village. The camp has a peaceful atmosphere, day and night, allowing guests to experience a genuine desert lifestyle.
Wadi Rum Nights is situated in the valley east of Khazali, in the red desert. It is also in close proximity to the wild sand dunes of the white desert. As identified on the Wadi Rum Tourist Map, it is 2km south of Little Bridge.

Wadi Rum is famous for its Bedouin camps and nomad tents, so don’t miss your chance to stay with locals and experience a different culture! Our traditional tents have a scenic layout within the camp, providing comfort in both our social and private areas. Each tent has stunning views over the valley, one of the things our guests love the most. The camp has a welcoming atmosphere, where we gather together for meals, entertainment and socialising with guests. The camp revolves around the communal tent, typical to Bedouin culture, where we drink tea, eat meals, share stories and interact. However, you will also have the solitude of your own private tent.
During the day, the camp is quiet and relaxing, which is perfect to enjoy desert in its warmest hours. A contrast to the liveliness of the cities of Jordan! At night, this gorgeous land is a nirvana of peace and tranquillity, as the isolated camp shows off the magnificent stars. With clear skies all year round, an altitude above 1000m, and no light pollution, it is one of the world’s best stargazing locations.
Wadi Rum Bedouin camps are a rare experience that offer a unique insight into local custom that is difficult to find elsewhere. We are an authentic and genuine Bedouin camp, where our families have lived in the Wadi Rum valley for generations. All your hosts are born and raised in the surrounding desert and are glad to share with you their intimate knowledge of the land. The in-camp restaurant serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. All meals are traditional to the region, with dinners cooked in our Bedouin Zarb (underground oven). We share meals together in our communal tent, during set times, which is an important tradition in our nomadic customs.
Wadi Rum Nights camp has a variety of facilities, including western bathrooms with hot running water. The camp is kept clean and we operate a selection of different tours for our guests. There are 3 options of accommodation to choose between: luxury tents with private bathroom and balcony, private traditional tents and the dormitory. There is also the option for camping under the stars!
Wadi Rum Nights maintains traditional elements, whilst providing comfort for our visitors. All guests are invited to feel as if they are part of the family, and to use all of our camp facilities freely, which are kept clean and tidy. We provide all meals and have a live-in chef, and operate a variety of tours for our guests. We are open all-year round, but make sure you research and choose the best time for your particular interests.
The camp is strategically located close to the major natural attractions of the UNESCO listed Wadi Rum Protected Area. An English-speaking Bedouin guide will take you to visit the very best of the Wadi Rum desert, which is often compared to Mars. See all the attractions, including: viewpoints, red sandstone cliffs, canyons, rock arches, sand dunes, Lawrence of Arabia sights and much more, in an open-top jeep tour. Plan your trip in Wadi Rum according to your preference: by foot, camel, and half or full day 4×4 tour.
Wadi Rum has a range of options for those that have a few days to enjoy with us, here in the desert. We have prepared different packages for guests to consider during their visit. If you have more time, we revel in the serene quiet of the desert during the day, and sharing stories around the campfire at night, under the stars. For visitors with limited time in Jordan, ensure that you experience at least one night in a traditional camp, and a 4×4 tour to see the highlights of Wadi Rum. Please join us for a unique and cultural experience, that will create memories that will stay with you long after you have returned home.
