This is a specialised tour that takes you to the more secluded parts of the Protected Area. Rather than focusing on more popular attractions that draw most tourists to the area, this tour option focuses on the cultural components of the region. Our Nomad tour visits the Bedouin families who are least integrated into the modern world. You will see no other vehicles or tourists, and will experience the feeling of being truly disconnected from the outside world. You will have the chance to interact with modern nomadic Bedouin herding families, who are largely self-sufficient and have limited reliance on the outside world. You will get firsthand exposure to their way of life and how critical the importance of their animals is to their existence and traditions. There will be opportunities to eat and share with these people, and to gain insight into how broad their skill set is for them to live so productively in these harsh desert environments. You will have a highly skilled guide who will interpret and translate for you, to ensure that you are able to achieve the maximum understanding from your experience.
The tour includes lunch that is prepared by a local semi nomadic family. The purpose of this is for you to join the nomadic families within their daily routine. It is important that we are advised of any dietary needs in advance, as we only have limited control over the meals provided. We must consider that we are joining their meal, rather than having them cater to us. Therefore, in some cases where visitors have specific dietary needs that the local diets do not naturally cater for, we will bring along our own supplementary foods for that guest.
